My Winning Goodreads Giveaways

I’m going to let you in a little secret. I’m a bit obsessed with Goodreads Giveaways. Maybe, I was one of the last to the party, but I discovered them in February, and I soon found myself excited to enter these competitions. In the beginning, It was kind of random. I’d enter one day, and then I might not look for a giveaway for several days. I knew that thousands of people were entering for some of these books, so I might not ever win one.

My First Win

In mid-June, a package arrived addressed to me. When I opened it, I was confused. I hadn’t ordered this book. It took me a while to realize that I’d won my first Goodreads Giveaway, Counting Lost Stars. I was excited and surprised. Plus, I was determined to continue winning.

The July Winning Party

In early July, I was excited when I won my first Goodreads Giveaway ebook, A Prelude to Versailles: Love and Intrigue at the Paris Peace Conference. By that point, I was feeling really lucky. I’d won two giveaways in just over a month. Really? Over the next 16 days, I won a further three ebooks from Goodreads Giveaways!! I was on a winning streak it appeared.

What to Expect

I have finished reading both of the first two books that I won, and I’ll post reviews on them hopefully within the next few days. Reviews for The Summer Girl, A Tear in Time, and Distilling Lies will be posted as I finish them as well. As of right now, I’m actually a little iffy about the three that I haven’t read yet. If I should happen to win more books, be sure to check out those reviews as I post them.

Now, I should encourage other avid readers to enter to win some Goodreads Giveaways. There are a wide assortment of books offered on a daily basis. Since the more people who enter, the less chance I have of winning, instead I’m going to say, “Don’t do it. You don’t really want those books.”
